Heather Madsen

Heather Madsen holds a PhD in Evolutionary Genetics and joined GSK in 2001. During her 22-year career at GSK and ViiV Healthcare, Dr. Madsen held a variety of leadership roles across several business units including Head of R&D for the European Pharma Diagnostics Business Unit; Senior Director, Target Sciences; Executive Director of Research, Alternative Discovery & Development and Head of Translational Research. She led a diversity of projects spanning early R&D to Post-Marketing. Heather is the co-author of 40 peer-reviewed scientific publications and co-inventor on 4 patents. In her last role at ViiV as Head of Translational Research, Heather created a Bioinformatics function and led the HIV cure research area including end-to-end pipeline and strategic accountability. Heather joined Hatteras Venture Partners 2024 and is currently an Operating Partner at Hatteras Venture Partners, a Board Observer of Huma.ai, Board Director of Inimmune, and CEO of PIPr Therapeutics.
